A shocking discovery in North East Clare

A DOG WALKER out and about in Turkenagh Bog in North-East Clare early on Monday morning was met with a shocking find, when her dog discovered the dead body of an abandoned young foal.

The woman said she believed that the foal had only recently died and that the carcass had been dumped beside the quiet country road only “last night” [Sunday, January 13].

Following the discovery, the walker contacted Killaloe Garda Station and Clare County Council to inform the local authorities of the gruesome sight, found in a popular wooded area which is regularly used by those in the locality. (DB) Ann Illing
