The Clare 10k is coming this May

Celebrating the 11th running of the event, The Clare 10k is set for the off on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Starting from Lees Road in Ennis, the race skirts around the outskirts of Ennis town for the first 5km, while taking in some of the tranquil scenery of the Clare countryside for the second half of the event.

Each year, we welcome over 1,000 runners, joggers and walkers to the roads of the Banner county. Every participant can be assured of a professional event which is supported on the road by a team of volunteers and marshalled by the Garda and bikemarshals.ie. Inside Lees Road itself, our army of selfless volunteers collect entries, ensure ample parking, guide participants and at the end offer refreshments. Each and every person taking part receives a technical t-shirt, an electronic timing chip, a finishers goody bag, refreshments and the offer of pre or post race massage.

For competitive athletes we offer a prize fund of over €1,500, while there are also over a dozen impressive spot prizes which will be chosen at random from those who have entered before Friday, May 20th.

Over the past decade The Clare 10k has raised over €100,000 for local charities, most namely, Clare Haven Services, an Ennis based charity supporting women and children experiencing domestic violence. In 2016, we will add to this figure and would love to have you join us on the day.     Your entry fees goes directly to supporting Clare Haven Services.

The Clare 10k welcomes individuals, groups, companies of all types. Should you require more than five entry forms, don’t hesitate to contact us at The Clare People offices on 065 6895500. Over the past few years we have seen a marked increase meet and train groups, company groupings and charity representations. All are welcome and we will accommodate any and all participants.

Our website, www.clare10k.com offers you a map of the route, a 6 week training plan tailored for you, results and a photo gallery from past running of the event as well as information about our chosen charity.
