No ‘Twink like hysterics’ for Sharon Shannon

While it took the intervention of the gardaí to reunite Twink with her lost Yorkshire Terrier “Teddy Bear”, it was a case of hard work and perseverance for legendary Clare musician Sharon Shannon, who found her missing cat Rosie last week.
The trad star, who has been searching for Rosie since last July, was overjoyed this week when she tracked down her beloved cat.
Sharon, who is a well known animal lover, had worked tirelessly to locate the missing animal, and even said a few prayers for her safe return.
“Fantastic news, my missing cat Rosie is home.
“More than 50 posters and over 300 flyers around the neighbourhood, and a lot of prayers, eventually led to the phone call I’ve been waiting for, six weeks since she first disappeared,” she said last week.
“She’s 10 years old and never strayed before. She was seen going into the gardens of the nuns residence close to my house. I got lots of calls in the last few weeks to come and see various cats that looked very like her but they were all wrong leads.
“When I saw her in the distance, I wasn’t sure if it was her cause I had become a bit disillusioned as I’ve seen so many cats that were just like her in the last few weeks.
“But as soon as I called her name, she came running over to me miaowing and I picked her up in my arms. I’m absolutely ecstatic, I’m over the moon. She has just finished an entire tin of tuna fish and she will be spoiled rotten with all her favourite foods.
“She’s in perfect condition so it looks like somebody else has been spoiling her rotten also. I don’t mind, I’m just so relieved that she’s alive and healthy and that she wasn’t poisoned or taken by dog fighters as I had feared.”
The traditional musician thanked everyone who helped her in her search for the missing cat.
