Over a quarter of people in Clare had voted by 5pm

Over a quarter of people in Clare had voted by teatime with the largest turn out in the Killaloe Electoral area.
The average turnout currently for the whole county is 26.3 per cent.
The Ennis Local Electoral Area reflected that with a turn out of 26.7 per cent.
Ennis CBS has reported a 23.9 per cent turn out, with Clarecastle NS seeing 29.5 per cent of voters.
Confirmation is taking place in the Shannon area and has been attributed to the slower than average turn out there.
This evening just 19 per cent of the electorate had voted at the five booth St Conaire’s National School, Shannon polling station. Meelick NS, in the same electoral area, is reporting a slightly higher turn out of 21 per cent.
In the West Clare electoral area voting turn out is at 27 per cent. Miltown Malbay NS is reporting a turn out of 29 per cent, Lisdoonvarna 25 per cent and St Senan’s Kilrush has a 27.5 per cent turn out, with one of the three boxes reaching 30 per cent.
Voting in the Killaloe electoral area is relatively highest 31.25 per cent
Supervisors at Killaloe NS have reported a very busy afternoon as turn out reaches 35 per cent. Tulla, also in the constituency, is reporting a turn out of 27.5 per cent.
