Set in the present day, the action takes place in the Ryan’s living room where the audience will be introduced to a host of colorful characters. James Ryan is an aspiring playwright, who is trying to write a three-act play. With inspiration at a low ebb, James decides to write about something he knows – leading to hilarious consequences. It will include a large local cast and is directed by Willie O’Leary, who has been the group’s producer since 1995.

The play will be staged at Cratloe Community Hall at 8.30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 12 and 13.

The group was formed by the members of an Adult Education Drama Class (Clare VEC). This class was organised by Rose Collins in the spring of 1981. The name for the group was prompted by the fact that there are three castles and a famous wood in the parish. The first production was a three-act play staged in the Community Hall called ‘A Letter from the General’ by Maurice McLaughlin and the producer was Eileen Neville RIP.

Tickets priced at €10 will be available at the door.
