He’s done it again. The undisputed heavyweight champion of Clare music blogging, the MP3Hugger, has released his (give me a minute here… ninth, tenth) eleventh album of the last 12 months on the Indiecater label.
Not bad by anyone’s reckoning but even more impressive when you consider that he is doing it all with virtually no backing but for ye olde combination of blood, sweat and tears.
But wait, there’s more. There is something just a little different about this record. I know I said before that this latest project was the eleventh release on the Indiecater label but get this, in many ways, it’s actually their first. (Queue Star Trek like explanation “warp fields are like surf boards etc).
On this release the MP3Hugger has teamed up with a band from Idaho called the Very Most on a year long project that will see them release 4 download EP’s through www.indiecater.com.
This is not a compilation of songs drawn from bands all over the world and given a second life on Indiecater – this is the real deal, a full album of brand spanking new songs released in full Technicolor by the MP3Hugger.
Each EP will be named after a season of the year and will come out on the very first day that Spring begats Summer and when Summer begats Autumn (you get the gist right?).
The Spring EP has been doing the rounds for a month or more and on May 1 the ray of sunshine that will be the Summer EP will appear on the site. The EP’s are selling (fast) for a credit crunching €2.50 each so by the finish it’ll all add up to €10 for 16 brand new tunes.
The Very Most are a Teenage Fanclubesque troupe, peddling chord jangles and sweet melodies. They are firm favorites of the MP3Hugger, so much so that they’ve already appeared on 2 Indiecater compilations. If you don’t believe any of this then check out a free sample below…
