While Rock Rovers are preparing for only their first Clare decider, the cup final experience is nothing new for Bunratty. Four cup titles in nine years has established the club’s pedigree in Clare’s showcase event and while they are not exactly handing medals out in the change in The Creamery bar just yet, most of their squad do have winners medals in their back pockets.
One such player is John Ryan, who is the only player to have played in all the previous four finals in the last decade. A talisman of sorts, Ryan spent the last two seasons with Shannon Olympic but on his return, Bunratty have once again progressed to the cup final. So what is it about Bunratty and the cup?
