| Phony war is over as final nears |

Another week down and the sense of expectation will really be starting to rise in the Munster camp over the coming days. Declan Kidney has finally been confirmed as the new Ireland coach and it’s good to have that out of the way in time for everyone to settle down and concentrate fully on the job at hand. Leading up the final, though, this isn’t about Declan Kidney and the fact that his tenure is coming to an end. It’s about Munster winning and he’ll feel the same way. I’m sure some people will be trying to put a spin on things, saying that Munster will be going all out to win it for Declan, but it doesn’t work that way. I remember the 2002 final against Leicester was Peter Clohessy’s last game for Munster and things didn’t work out the way we planned. So Munster just need to be very professional and get all distractions out of the way. Registration is required to view this content, registration is FREE |
