The Rock’ go into the final
Written by Eoin Brennan

Rock Rovers 2 - Rineanna Rovers 1 at the County Grounds, Ennis (cup semi-final)

A battle of the Rovers but more like Roy of the Rovers for Rock who grabbed an injury time winner to advance to their first ever Clare Cup final. It was the stuff of dreams really for the first division outfit who belied their struggling league form to edge this tight encounter with an Ashly Glynn header in the 92nd minute.
Accounting for Newtown and Corofin Harps along the way, Rock Rovers had exceeded all expectations to even get to this stage so the pressure was all on the premier side. Another major factor was the wind which had grown increasingly stronger since the first semi-final with Rineanna having the conditions in the first half.
