A CLARE senior hurler has withdrawn civil proceedings against The Clare People newspaper over the use of his photograph on an advertising brochure.
Ennis District Court heard last Thursday that the case taken by Diarmuid McMahon was to be struck out.
Mr McMahon, of 10 Brookfields, Shannon, had sought damages from Clare College News Ltd, trading as The Clare People, after his photograph appeared on an advertising rate card brochure for the newspaper in 2005.
