| Mike Mac’s men look impressive |

Genuinely I was impressed with Clare on Sunday in Cusack Park. It was my first time seeing the Senior Hurlers in action since Mike Mac took over this season and it seemed to coincide thankfully with their best performance of the League campaign so far. The spirit of the Clare team was there for all to see and a draw was probably a fair result overall, although Mike Mac expressed his disappointment afterwards that an all out win was not achieved. It was the Clare work ethic that pleased and delighted me most for each and every player worked his socks off. Goalkeeper Philip Brennan was excellent and while one point blank save in the first half was memorable, it was his wonderful fingertip catch either above or just below the crossbar at the very end that defined his overall performance. I think Brennan is proving to be a fine keeper and a worthy successor to Davy Fitzgerald. Registration is required to view this content, registration is FREE |
