Banner beaten but improving
Written by TJ Flynn

Waterford 1-13 - Clare 0-10 at Fraher Field, Dungarvan

Ten months ago, Clare travelled to Dungarvan and gave Waterford their only championship victory in 19 years. This time, another home-town record fell at Clare’s expense. Back-to-back league wins for Waterford for the first time in two decades, but still there’s no real point in painting another grey picture for Clare.
Sure, the league has been a disaster area for the county this year but on Sunday, at least, there was the odd ray of light.
For the first quarter of an hour, Clare played their best football of 2008.
The passing was crisp, the movement was impressive, the most direct route at goal was taken. David Tubridy had three scores whipped over in just over 20 minutes and Clare had the game by the neck.

** This thread discusses the Content article: Banner beaten but improving **

This present Clare football team would have a very hard time competing even at Junior level. They are really pathetic and should be removed from playing any further role in this years league or championship as they are only embaressing our County. Arthur Irwin.
