MOTHER Russia has a new president. It’s the old president again, but cunningly disguised as a new president. The incoming bigwig Dimity Medvedev has vowed to stand alone, to be his own man, to make the big decisions himself, as long as the former president Vladimir Putin says it’s cool. Some pesky little constitutional law meant Putin was unable to run for election again, and toying with the idea of running again disguised in a set of comedy glasses and a moustache or just getting a puppet to do the donkey work for him, Putin went with the latter.
