SO many elements of rural life and living, both simple and profound, amalgamated on an emotional evening in O’Callaghan’s Mills last week. It was an occasion which underlined the power and purpose and warmth of a rural Clare community. It was an occasion when the strength of the forces weakening such communities was also strongly underlined. And it was an evening when the linkage between people and their pubs, again both simple and profound and complex, was highlighted as the evening aged.
