| This week: The easy life - too easy? |

I WAS studying a milk carton the other day – life is what you make of it, after all – and I noticed a thoroughly unnecessary and irksome ‘Easy Pour’ declaration embossed into the clouded plastic. Easy Pour. When exactly was pouring not easy? Has the act of pouring become such a chore for us now that if it were not for these advances in easy-pour technology, we would be spilling milk catastrophically all over the place, fumbling like a ham-handed baboon while making Weetabix, cursing at the lavish lactose waste all over the table and the floor, and begging for the scientific community to commit to the betterment of pouring. And squeezing too. Every condiment and foodstuff has to be squeezed out of a tube now, or it’s too much effort to bother eating.
