The 19th (12/02/08)
Written by Joe O Muircheartaigh
GROWING up with the GAA, kicking football badly and watching both codes avidly, it’s true to say that the dual star always held fascination. There was always something about a player who could play both codes at a very high level.
The dual star has been there since the earliest days of the GAA and consequently dual stars always come in for special mention.
WJ Spain is one of those stars. It’s virtually certain that his name would long be forgotten as just another GAA statistic, another player like those before him and after him.
