HERE’S a shocking statistic to begin with. No less than 40 of Mick Gleeson’s regulars were killed stone dead last year whilst crossing the road either to or from the riverside bar! This is no pub yarn. This is a fact gleaned from the man himself last Thursday evening. And, despite that carnage, not a single file sent yet to the DPP! The explanation is that the “regulars” involved were ducks belonging to the flock of mallard ducks and drakes and plump geese and ganders who add a unique dimension to one of the liveliest pubs I’ve been in since I started this series. It is my sound advice to all of you who have not been there yet to visit as quack as you can! Registration is required to view this content, registration is FREE |

My wife, Margaret Ann, and I are from America and have been friends of the Gleesons for about 34 years. We have been to the Greynound many times. We enjoyed reading the article about the "regulars" and hope to manage another visit soon. Bob Alberter St. Augustine, Florida |
