Written by Joe O Muircheartaigh
LORENZO BRUNO Nero Dallaglio, or just plain old Lawrence to his friends and foes too, gave a very interesting interview to Marian Finucane last Saturday morning on the national broadcaster.
It was just a few hours before he packed down with his fellow swarm of Wasps in Thomond Park when their reign as Heineken European champions was on the line.
He spoke about his career at length - a life in rugby that was shaped bythe death of his sister Francesca in the Marchioness pleasure boat disaster on the Thames in 1989.
He tried to defend the effront to President Mary McAleese when the English team ignored protocol when lining up before the Grand Slam decider against Ireland in Lansdowne Road in 2003. Registration is required to view this content, registration is FREE
