VINCENT Browne is starting his new TV show on TV3 this week, and he has snaffled an exclusive interview with Bertie Ahern. By exhausting my web of contacts, I have managed to procure an exclusive transcript of this chitchat before transmission. For some reason they mostly talked about darts. Vincent Browne: So, Bertie, did you watch the darts this week? Bertie Ahern: No, I can’t say I did. VB: How come? BA: I was busy with the tribunal, running the country and I had to take some old mattresses to the dump. VB: So you didn’t catch a single leg of darts from the Lakeside? You didn’t see Co Stompe’s 170 check-out, geeky Glenn Moody’s excitement at being on the oche, Ted Hankey punching the board in frustration, or finally Mark Webster’s epic final victory over Simon ‘The Wizard’ Whitlock? You saw none of it. BA: No, I may have flicked over and caught Ray Stubbs talking to Bobby George about his mansion that’s shaped like a dart, but I’m not quite sure.
