Sean Kelly leads the way in Clare

FINE GAEL MEP Sean Kelly looks certain to retain his position as a member of the European Parliament for Ireland South if the Clare tally is anything to go by.

With a total of 51 boxes opened and counted in Clare, Sean Kelly has so far recorded a total of 3,227 votes, ahead of Cork TD, Billy Kelleher (FF) by nearly 1,000 votes, who is on 2,296 votes. As it stands Green Party’s Grace O’Sullivan is in third place with a total of 1,447 votes. Completing the top five is Sinn Fein’s Liadh Ní Riada on 1,367 votes and Mick Wallace on 1,307 votes.

The votes will be combined with those from other counties in Ireland South and the overall county in Cork tomorrow.
