Clare singer, Sarah McTernan, has spent much of the past week in a series of full dress rehearsal since arriving in Israel on Monday.
She undertook her final media appearance in Ireland last Friday when she sang live on the Ray Darcy Show on Radio 1. After the show she bid an emotional farewell to RTÉ, where she has spent much of her time over the past few months.
“The last few days have been quite emotional. I left RTÉ, I said my goodbyes to the producers and all the people up there. I was actually sobbing, I’ve become so close to so many people up there, they are like my family,” she said.
“I’ve spent so much time up there. It was a running joke [in RTÉ], people asked me did I go home at all and I told them that I had a little bed in the office. It was a running joke that I had moved into the place. I’ll be totally lost without them, they are actually like my family.”
Sarah will perform live at least twice next week, on Tuesday for the non-televised jury performance and on Wednesday for the semi-final.
