Over the last few years, Lahinch photographer Mrs Red has built a reputation as one of the most innovative and experimental photographers working in Ireland today. Her images skirt the lines between fantasy, surrealism and even horror – but are always centered in the search for a deeper emotional truth. Not content to simply representing her subjects as they physically appear, she digs deeper, unlocking layers of feeling and emotion that lie beyond the reach of most cameras. In the LIFE section of tomorrow’s Clare People, Andrew Hamilton chats to the mercurial Mrs Red.
We also speak with wildlife filmmaker, Gordon Buchanan, ahead of his talk in Glor later this week while Joe O Muircheartaigh soeaks with Ennis woman Dr Rosie Gowran about her campaign to help wheelchair users across the country.
