Two men were arrested last night in connection with an aggravated burglary that occurred in Kilmihil last month.
An elderly man was knocked to the ground and tied up when the attackers entered his home at Shyan West, Kilmihil, on Sunday August, 10. Two men wearing balaclavas knocked him to the ground and assaulted him and tied him up using cable ties.
Luckily for the man, the raiders ceased their attack when a neighbour arrived to check on him. The two culprits ran away when they saw the neighbour coming up the driveway. They fled the house across the fields.
Yesterday at 12.15pm two men in their 20s from Limerick city were arrested for this aggravated Burglary in Limerick city and are presently in custody and being detained at Ennistymon and Kilrush Garda stations. Their detention was initially extended to 12.15am and questioning was then suspended for the night. Again the Gardai at Kilrush would like to appeal to anyone who has information concerning this crime to come forward and assist the Gardai with their enquiries.
