THE ice-bucket challenge phenomenon is sweeping the world through social media – it could now be headed all the way to Dáil Éireann if Clare hurling sensation Shane O’Donnell has his way.
All to with the inaugural Shane O’Donnell Summer Camp that took place in the Éire Óg Grounds in Ennis all week, concluding on Friday when O’Donnell took part in the ice-bucket challenge.
O’Donnell got the ice-bucket treatment from a couple of Éire Óg colleagues, with the club donating €100 to Motor Neurone Disease Ireland (MND). O’Donnell has nominated Taoiseach Enda Kenny to take up the challenge, while he also nominated three other All-Ireland winners to take the plunge.
They are fellow All-Ireland winner and dual star with Clare Podge Collins of the Cratloe club, while from the world of inter-county footballer with All-Irelands he has chosen Kerry legend Colm Cooper of Dr Crokes and Dublin defender Jack McCaffrey of the Clontarf club.
