On average one in every ten Clare voters have been to the polling stations this morning.
By noon, 10.21 per cent of the electorate in Ennis had cast their vote in the Clare County Council and European Elections.
Two of the larger polling stations Ennis (CBS) and Clarecastle (NS) are reporting a turn out of at 9.52 per cent and 10.9 per cent respectively.
Voting has been slower in the West Clare area at 9.8 per cent. The largest turn out recorded in the west was in the Miltown Malbay polling station at 12.16 per cent.
Kilrush (St Senan’s NS) is reporting a 9.3 per cent turn out, although turn out is slightly higher at its rural boxes. Lisdoonvarna is slower with an 8 per cent turn out.
Voting is down in the Shannon Electoral Area with turn out at 8.25 per cent. The lowest turn out recorded is at Shannon (St. Conaire’s NS) polling station at 7.61 per cent, with Meelick NS recording a turn out of 8.6 per cent.
Voting is highest in the Killaloe Electoral Area with turn out reaching 12.5 per cent. Killaloe National School has reported a healthy turn out of 15 per cent while Tulla is at 10 per cent.
