There was great excitement in Kilrush this morning as news broke that last night’s €8.3 million lotto winning ticket was sold in well known local business – Miniter’s Grocery Store, Henry Street. The €24 winning ticket was sold on Saturday afternoon at approximately 1pm, and was for both Saturday and Wednesday’s Lotto draws.
Mary Miniter told The Clare People that there is every chance that the lucky winner or winners are local, as her cutomers at this time of
year are usually from the West Clare area. Though there has been much speculation as to who the winner might be, as yet, nobody has come forward to claim the prize.
“I am only speculating, but a €24 ticket could even belong to a syndicate,” said a very excited Ms Miniter. Mary has been an agent for the National Lottery since it first began and this is her biggest win to date.
The business owner will also receive a prize payment of €15,000 for selling the winning ticket, and already has plans in place for the windfall.
“This was my dream all my life. I was always waiting to hear this news on a Sunday morning, and it turned out to be a Thursday. It is very exciting,” she said.
Ms Minister received a call from the National Lottery this morning at 7.40am to inform her that she had help make someone a millionaire, and
the celebrations have continued since then.
All West Clare lotto ticket holders are now advised to start checking those numbers, or if you are a member of a syndicate start tracking down the ticket holder now.
