Gardai have discovered a cannabis cultivation operation at a house on the Loop Head Peninsula. As part of an operation targeting the cultivation of cannabis Gardaí from Kilrush Garda Station searched a house at Breaffa, Carrigaholt, on Wednesday.
Gardai discovered 600 plants growing and evidence of in excess of 500 harvested plants. Subject to analysis the drugs seized may have a street value of almost €500,000.
The scene remains preserved and a technical examination of the area is being carried out. There have been no arrests.
