CLARE’S All-Ireland hurling heroes will receive their senior medals this Friday night in Treacy’s West County Hotel at a Gala Presentation Show that will feature a host of special guests and performers on the historic night.
Organisers of the extravaganza are remaining tight lipped about the line-up for the Gala Show, but some household names are expected on the West County stage.
Guests attending the spectacular evening are asked to get to the West County early as doors open at 6.30pm with joint MCs Syl O’Connor and Marty Morrissey opening proceedings at 7.15 sharp.
All the players, management and their families will all be in attendance and up to 900 people are expected to throng the venue for the prestigious event.
There is much secrecy surrounding the show and the identity of the person presenting the medals to the players will not be revealed until the night itself. According to manager Davy Fitzgerald, the show will be about the players:
“This is their night, the show will be all about them. They deserve a special night that they will never forget and that’s what we’re planning. This has been a special year and Friday night is about celebrating that in style,” he told us.
“Also there are a very limited number of tickets being made available to the public and these are specifically for supporters who have followed us throughout the year and would like to be part of the night, to enjoy it with the players. We’d love to see them there,” he added.
The limited number of tickets (priced €60 each) were made available to the public on Monday and can be purchased from Clare GAA at Clareabbey, or by calling 065-6821072. They will be distributed on a first come first served basis.
