Clare Soccer Manager Liam Murphy has praised his players in the wake of a 1-1 draw away to Galway in the second round of the Oscar Traynor Trophy last night. Clare took the lead in the 72nd minute through a Declan Callinan free-kick and looked to have held on for the win as late as the second minute of injury-time, when Galway grabbed a goal and a share of the points.

With a win and a draw under their belts, Clare are top of their group and are now in a good position to progress to the knockout stages if they can avoid defeat to the Desmond League in their final group game.
